Drugstore May favourites

Hello lovelies!! WOW I can't believe were in JUNE already. Were halfway through 2017, before we know it will soon be christmas and another year complete. I absolutely love it when it gets to summer time as my birthday is during the summer and we spend a lot of time going on days out and just enjoying life :) For this post I have decided to put together a few of my MAY drugstore favourites, some oldies and some new loves....enjoy

MAYBELLINE MATTE MAKER
Most of my week is taken up by working hours so I tend to just use a drugstore powder for my everyday "work" makeup. I like to this use this powder as it's so affordable and it does what it says on the packaging, it mattifies your skin like a dream. This certainly reduces the shine or any oiliness on the skin. I have oily/combination skin so this powder is perfect for me. I definitely recommend it if your looking for a cheap/drugstore alternative to high end powders. You can  pick this up from many high street retailers that stock cosmetics such as superdrug and boots...

Primark PS moonlight beam highlighter
Primark now has their own makeup line just in case you didn't know already. Primark make up has such a huge hype around it at the moment on a lot of social platforms especially youtube. You will find many influencers have done testing primark makeup videos. These are ideal if your a bit on the fence about cosmetics from primark. On my last primark haul I picked up one of the ps radiant glow highlighting powders. I swatched it in store and I was blown away. Who knew primark makeup would be THIS GOOD...really I was shocked!! I think the highlighter was like £1 or £2 I think, can't remember exactly. I use this highlighter for work, perfect for what you need it for as who's trying to impress when your working right. It's a lovely subtle glow so not too intense during the daytime. I found it to have a lot of fall out but you get what you pay for really. It's good enough for a primark product though..

Loreal Colour Riche eyeshadow
I have had this product for a while and think i picked it up in Boots. You can also get it in Superdrug or any cosmetic stockist. This is a rediscovery for me and I absolutely love it. When I bought it I swatched it on the tester pad and it was beautiful. Such a glowing gold shade, perfect for any glowing makeup look. This shade is called lumiere..500 gold mania. It reminds me of Kathleen Lights products with colourpop. They are all in the same shade name too. This used alone on the lid or over a matte shade are stunning. I can imagine how intense it will be when used with a setting spray or mac fix plus for instance. You definitely need this in your life if you opt for drugstore eyeshadows...

Loreal lumi magique base pure light primer
I was a bit on the fence abut this primer when I first heard about it. I did pick up the foundation prior to this purchase and I wasn't impressed with the foundation, for my skin type anyway. I found the foundation too lightweight and not full coverage at all. However when I seen an influencer on youtube talk about the lumi magique primer I knew I had to try it. This was an impulse buy for sure. Again a rediscovery because when I bought it I just put it away with the foundation thinking it won't work so I decided to give it a go and i'm in love. This primer is perfect under the foundation that I use for work days. You can pick it up from superdug for £10.99 and you get 20ml for this price.  This primer is designed to illuminate the skin either alone or under foundation. For everyday makeup it's good, not highly amazing but for the price you can't go wrong...

Loreal Colour Riche lipstick in Eva's nude
Loreal lipsticks are some of my favourite drugstore products. The colour riche line inspired and created with celebrities are so gorgeous that these are must have's in your collection. One of the lipstick shades I have been loving in the month of May was the Eva Longoria shade in nude. The nude shade is like a very deep nude and would be lovely with some bronze and golden tones on the eyes. Again I picked this up from superdrug however Loreal is so very well stocked in so many different retailers.  It retails for £6.99 and loreal say these lipsticks are designed for every skin tone. I think I have few more from this range as well...
 Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Maybelline are another brand I know I can trust for drugstore makeup. Maybelline have really upped their game with their releases lately. I have been loving all of their products. The lash sensational mascara is a favourite amongst influencers on you tube, instagram and twitter. I have tried this product in the past but cant remember what my thoughts were. I picked it up again in the month of MAY and by god what an amazing mascara it is for just £8.99. It could just be the hype around it that makes you think WOW but this sure is a winner in my eyes, have they changed the formula of this as I don't remember liking it the first time around.  So this is a rediscovery for me this month. Again superdrug stock this if you think you will pick it up..if you haven't already!!

For anyone looking for swatches of these products I have inserted the swatches so you can see just how perfect the loreal products really are.  From top to bottom the swatches are the loreal lipstick in eva's nude, maybelline matte powder in nude beige, the primark highlighter in moonlight beam, the lumi magique primer and lastly the loreal colour riche shadow in lumiere gold mania...

For my MAY favourites that are non- beauty related a film I watched at the cinema this time was "A Dog's Purpose". Omg such a teary eyed film, it makes you so happy and so sad at the same time. It tells the tale of a dog living through its lives and finally finding it's purpose. It reminds me of the film marley and me...definitely a family film so perfect for a weekend chill....

For music which is another love of mine in the month of May I discovered Camilla Cabello. Her voice is beautiful and her songs are so interestingly pleasing. The beat of her songs are very catchy so perfect for listening too on chill days or commuting somewhere...the tracks I have  been loving are called "Crying in the club" and "I have questions" You can find the video on my home page if you want to take a listen...

So that wraps up this month's favourites....what have you been enjoying through the month of May, did you buy any new products or rediscover oldies. I certainly want to try some new brands in makeup do you guys have any suggestions??

Thank you for reading

Leighanne xoxo
