Festive Party Makeup

Hey lovelies... there must be quite a few of us that have already been to some christmas parties by now. I have been to at least three over the last month or so. I love the festive season, in my opinion it's the best time of the year Everyone appears to be more cheerful and happy :) Do you have a christmas party coming up this weekend ? I would love to hear about what you have chosen for your festive makeup. If your not sure  what to pick here's a little round up of products I have been using for a party look...I'm sure it will give you some ideas :)

Before I apply my makeup I always use a primer ..ALWAYS this can be for work, a day out shopping and even running some errands. For a christmas party I dig out that primer that's slightly more expensive, you know the one you daren't dream of using just for a shift. I have been loving Charlotte Tilbury's Wonderglow for more than a year now. It's not the same one obviously, I have repurchased this quite a few times. I love the glow it gives my skin and it blurs out any imperfections too. I absolutely love this primer definitely pick one up if you can. Wonderglow retails for £38.50 so I would say it's worth the price tag..

I am a huge fan of concealer and always on the lookout for ones that cover dark circles and blemishes. Im prone to breakouts and spots and absolutely despise under eye bags. When it's time to head to a glam event again I love to use a product I know I'll love not when I've just applied my makeup and it all looks fresh but throughout the night too. The concealer I have been loving for longwear is Tarte's ShapeTape. When I got this I wasn't sure which shade to go for. They have quite a few shades. I ended up choosing light and was so excited when it arrived( I did choose the shade online) .However I did find the light shade was too light for me and I'm thinking of purchasing the light to medium shade. Overall the cover up of this concealer is amazing!! It did the job I wanted it to do just a bit annoyed with myself buying the wrong shade. This concealer is great to use for events and parties. I picked mine up off QVC, currently it's retailing for £28.02 with a free blending sponge..

Everyone knows how I love Charlotte Tilbury's Eyes to Mesmerise eyeshadow pots. The texture, the quality, the variety and the pigmentation of this product is superb. I have all 6 shades of these cream eyeshadows and one of my favourites is the shade Bette. It's like a bronze gold shade and can be used as an eyeshadow base/primer too. I love this shade a lot as Im drawn to gold, copper and bronze eyeshadows. I apply this as my base then choose if I want glitter or a metallic product on the lid. When I have done that I choose a shade/s  similar to the base colour. Charlotte's cream eyeshadows retail for £22.00..

One of my newest and current favourites is Urban Decay's Heavy Metals Palette. When I saw this I knew I wanted to try and get my hands on it. I was more drawn to the nude shades than the brights. I love metallic shadows though so trying the brights was definitely out of my comfort zone. I swatched this product as soon as I got it. I also did a blog post on this palette if you want to take a look HERE :) I was amazed by the swatches and now I have used a few shades from the brights too. I would recommend this palette if your a collector or just obsessed with eyeshadow palette's like myself...

For a festive party makeup look you have to use some glitter glitter right? My makeup look had bronze ,copper and gold tones in it. Next I added a bit of the Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid eyeshadows to give the eye look a bit more of a pop. I chose the shade Golden Goddess and it looked absolutely beautiful. I popped this shade in the middle of the lid as I created a halo eye. It looked stunning trust me and it lasted throughout the entire evening too. Stila's liquid shadows are available in gift sets for christmas too!!

I love putting a bit of colour underneath the bottom lashline too. For this I love using eyeshadow pencils. There so quick to use, I apply the shade I want to use and blend it out with a smudger brush. For this festive look I used Charlotte Tilbury's Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencil in the shade Amethyst Aphrodisiac. It is such a beautiful shade and definitely complements my eye colour. Charlotte's eyeshadow pencils retail for £19.00...

For a festive look I always use a lipstick that is more bold. At night time I love using the reds and berry shades. Out of all of the lipsticks I own I always go back to my Charlotte Tilbury ones. I love the formula of her lipsticks, there so comfortable to wear and the shade I have been loving is Glastonberry. I have been reaching for this more during the winter season. Definitely pick one up for your christmas party...
