My Summer Makeup Bag

Who else feels like these types of posts actually reflect the summer we've been having in the UK recently. I must say even though I'm a summer baby I much prefer the Autumn and Winter. One thing I do love about summer is that you can bring out those blinding highlights, bronze eyes and bright lipsticks :) I wanted to share with you the contents of my makeup bag this summer....

Pixi Beauty Glow Mist

This is an absolute must have for me!! I discovered this about a month or so ago and I haven't put it down since. You can use it before applying your makeup, setting your makeup and to spritz your face throughout the day too. I love having a dewy complexion and one that looks glowy especially during this time of the year.  What I love the most about this is that it's infused with aloe vera, propolis and fruit extracts. Propolis and aloe vera are so good for the skin and help to even out the skin tone too...

Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow

This wouldn't be a summer staples post without the queen's products in it would it? When I mention the Queen you all know who I mean right. Charlotte Tilbury has some of the most luxurious products on the market and one of my favourites for the summer is the Wonder Glow Primer.  I absolutely love how this makes your skin look, you can instantly see a difference the moment you apply it. Your skin is glowing before and after applying your makeup. One little tip I can give you is apply the most tiniest bit on your cheekbones and use it as a liquid highlighter too...

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Now I have to admit I wasn't the happiest with this foundation when I first started wearing it. I couldn't make it work for me and I didn't know why.  However when I did start wearing this my skin tone was uneven, I had lots of blemishes and texture on my face and I felt like it highlighted that even more. It's also a demi-matte foundation and it's also a medium coverage product. I love full coverage foundations and this is build-able so you can apply as little or as much as you need. I have also noticed a HUGE difference in my skin after changing up my skincare routine and find this foundation looks so much better on my skin NOW than it did THEN...

Charlotte Tilbury Beachstick

During the summer I do like to apply more products to my base and this includes blusher in a stick form. I'm not a huge fan of blush and this goes for powders too. However during the summer I will make it an exception to wear some more products that will make me look a lot more healthy looking.  I absolutely love the Charlotte Tilbury Beachstick in the shade Moon Beach. I have talked about this product before on my blog. Moon Beach is the most gorgeous peachy shade I've ever seen and complements a lot of my peach themed products. It also has a little sparkle to it too, this looks gorgeous once you see it on application. This is the only beach stick I own and this encourages me to try out more of Charlotte's products like this..

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions

I am all for bright eyeshadow looks during the summer. I'm so used to a bronze eye but when I feel like doing somethign different I love to use tones like the shadows in this mini palette from Huda Beauty. This is the Coral Obsessions and OMG this palette is so so gorgeous. It has a mix of pinks, yellows, oranges and coral shades. I must have thousands of shades like this in other palettes but what I like about this is that these types of shadows are all together in one place. They blend so easily, the pigment is great and they look fantastic on the eyes too. I've inserted a photo of swatches from the Coral Obsessions below..

Swatches from T-B are row 1, row 2 and row 3 (Left to Right of the Palette)

Colourpop Super Shock Shadows

Colourpop have some of the most nicest shadows on the market, in my opinion!! They are so pigmented, they look gorgeous on the eyes, they have a variety of shades and there affordable :) The quality of the super shock shadows are absolutely amazing. When you see the price of these you would easily think they would cost that little bit more because the colour pay off is fantastic...

I have a HUGE selection of these single shadows but some of my favourites include the shades Telepathy and Gameface! Telepathy is the gold one in the photo and Gameface is the orange toned one. You can apply these with brushes or your finger. You can also use these dry or wet. I must say using them dry is the better out of the two because you can see it's real pigment. I also prefer to use these all over the lid when you want to do a really quick easy makeup look. I also like to sue these as lid toppers over a matte eye look too. I highly recommend Colourpop as a brand too...

Makeup Forever Pro Fusion Bronze

I had never tried Makeup Forever products until I picked up this bronzer around the time of my birthday last month. I picked up the shade Honey from Debenhams. I had seen lots of their products on Instagram and loved the look of their bronzers. I have an oily/combo skin type and find this bronzer is the 'perfect' shade for me. It just gives me that skinkissed look without being naturally tanned. I never use to use a lot of bronzer but now I've discovered this its a must have!! I definitely will carry this into my winter makeup routine too...

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Micro Powder

Now if your a regular on my socials you know how much I love these powders for setting my makeup. The airbrush micro powder comes in 3 shades and I purchase the medium 2 shade. Your makeup after applying this looks so gorgeous and you only need the tiniest amount. Whichever brush you use to set your makeup it can pick up the pigment very quickly so you need to tap off the excess. This powder is very finely milled too. I also use a loose powder on my face before using this. I primarily use the micro powder as a finishing powder...

Urban Decay Beached Palette

Now if this isn't the best summer themed makeup product I don't know what is!! I seen the PR package for this over on youtube and it was so lovely. I absolutely loved the palm tree design for this collection. I really wanted to pick up the bronzers in this collection too but settled for the eyeshadow palette. The BEACHED eyeshadow palette comes with 8 shades and a mirror too. I think the colours in this palette are so beautiful, the mattes blend so nicely, the metallic shades are stunning and most of all those BLUES are insane!! You need to get a hold of this palette if you haven't already as its simply the most nicest palette I've seen this summer :) I've inserted a photo os some swatches below for you...

Swatches from T-B of the Urban Decay Beached Palette

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips/ Matte Revolution

Of course you need a bright lipstick for the summer right. You all know how much of  a lipstick hoarder I am and to have quite the selection of Charlotte Tilbury ones comes as an added bonus!
Charlotte's lipstick formula is one of my favourites and if there was only one lipstick I would wear everyday if would be hers. A shade I wear a lot during the summer is Miranda May. I also love the shade Sexy Sienna too :) Charlotte's Hot Lips lipsticks have been created with some celebrities and Miranda May was created with Miranda Kerr. I highly recommend Charlotte's lipsticks if your on the hunt for a comfortable, pigmented and quality lipstick..

Pixi Beauty Glowy-Gossamer Duos*

I absolutely love a blinding highlighter any time of the year and feel summer is the most perfect time to highlight to the gods right!! Pixi Beauty recently launched their highlighter duos and there so stunning. The pigment on these is amazing. I am so surprised at the quality of these and how good they look on the complexion. I was kindly gifted these from Pixi Beauty(Thank you loves!) and there definitely a summer staple...

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick*

During the summer I either wear a bullet lipstick or a liquid lipstick. I love to wear glosses over them too. One shade I absolutely love whether it's summer or not is Martha Moo. Tanya named this product after her dog Martha. It's the most nicest darker shade of a nude I've seen in a while. Even though Tanya's collection of matte lips have been out for some time I always find myself reaching for this over any other matte liquid lipstick I own. I have always loved Tanya's cosmetics line and think she is creating some new collections for us too so keep your eyes peeled for that...

If your interested in any of the products I've mentioned take a look below loves...

What's in your summer makeup bag this year??

Get To Know The Influencer Series

Hi loves. Your probably thinking where are the beauty posts right? I know I'm all about beauty but I wanted to add a little something different onto the blog. I've always wanted to interview some of my favourite people on youtube and those who may have blogs too.  So I went out of my way to do a little research, put some questions together and contact those that inspire me the most. I will be doing a series of these posts so you can discover somebody new to watch or learn more about those you do watch....

Today I've decided to start the Influencer Series with Getting To Know KENDALL ALFRED. Kendall has a youtube channel with over 149+ subscribers. Kendall has been one of my favourites on youtube for such a long time. I love her content and she's very thorough with her videos. I enjoy watching her beauty reviews and think she's perfect for part 1 of this series. Kendall lives over in the States too so let's hear more from her...

The Questions.....

1. What Inspired you to begin your youtube channel/blog?

When I discovered the world of beauty on YouTube I was truly fascinated and got sucked in immediately. After diving in and following some OG YouTube gurus for a few years my passion for makeup and beauty grew and grew. I began creating short little nail tutorials and eventually gained the confidence to show my face and actually talk to the camera - and here we are today!

2. Who are your favourite influencers/ bloggers in the beauty industry?

I have so many favourite influencers that I watch religiously it really would be impossible to name them all! At the moment a couple of beauty influencer’s that I never miss a video from are Samantha Ravndahl and Nicole Guerierro. I am constantly changing what I am interested in watching though so it’s really always different!

3. How do you stay motivated with your youtube channel/ blog?

It really is a constant struggle to remain motivated to produce content on social media. That’s the ongoing struggle. I really just find motivation from my subscribers and followers because if I go too long without posting I start to feel like I am letting them down. I try to find genuine inspiration before every post.. so sometimes there is a lag in posting. It’s something I am always working on.

4. Are there any brands you would recommend to those starting out in makeup and beauty?

For beginners in makeup I really suggest starting out in the drugstore and working your way up to high end products. Small investments in key products like the correct foundation or a few makeup brushes will build a better foundation to grow your passion from. I don’t suggest going all out and investing a ton of money in the high end brands before building your skills.

5. I absolutely love your makeup tutorials, what have been some of your favourites to create?

Thank you so much! Honestly my favourite makeup tutorials are holiday tutorials. I am always my most inspired during the holiday season. Anything with glitter and a bold lip really just make me happy to look back on.

6. Do you have a favourite motivational quote/ saying?

I don’t really have a go-to quote or saying. But I do know that if you truly believe in yourself and what you are capable of you will be successful.

7. How did you feel when you hit your first milestone?

Every milestone feels the same to me. I feel beyond shocked and happy and overwhelmed. When I hit 1K, 10K, 100K it felt the same every time. I am so grateful for everyone who helps push me there.

8. If you didn't have a youtube channel/ blog what do you think you would be doing now?

If I wasn’t doing social media as a career I would definitely be in law enforcement. I’ve always been inclined to do something within the criminal justice field.

9. What was your first influencer/ blog event?

My first influencer event wasn’t really meant for “Influencers” but I attended IMATS NYC with a brand and had such an amazing first experience meeting subscribers and people behind the scenes of some of my favourite brands. I would love to go back.

10. Are there any celebrities you take inspiration from?

I don’t really idolise many celebrities but I always appreciate the trendiness and style of the Kardashian’s. Kim and Kourtney have such simple/classy vibes in their wardrobe and I love that. As far as makeup I really just take inspiration as it comes from other artists/current trends/colours in nature.

Growing Up......

So for todays post I decided to do something a little different. I have been wanting to add some more lifestyle posts on my blog so let me know what you think loves. I have always loved watching movies and tv series. I'm not one to spend a night watching soaps or many reality tv shows.  I wanted to talk about what series and movies I have watched time and time again and never get bored by....

Charmed TV Series

Charmed was on the air between 1998 and 2006.  It was an american fantasy drama. This was one of my favourite series as a teenager. When it started I must have been about 10 or 11 years of age not quite a teenager but I loved it right from the word go. What made the show was the cast in my opinion...

Charmed was about 3 sisters who find a spell book in their attic. They read text from the book and this is what enables their supernatural powers. Actresses Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty were the leads in this series. Alyssa played Pheobe, Holly played Piper and Shannen played Prue. Each sister had a special power which grew over time. Pheobe had the power of premonition which allowed her to see things in the future or things that were about to happen. Piper was able to freeze people, objects and time.  Prue was my favourite character and she had the power of telekinesis which allowed her to move objects in her mind. Further into the series Prue was able to be in two places at once-astral projection. Pheobe, Prue and Piper had a bond like no other as they fought demons, warlocks and other creatures..

Shannen Doherty as always been one of my favourite actresses. I used to watch the original Beverly Hills 90210. Shannen also starred in this and I think is why I liked her character in Charmed because I had seen her act in other shows.  Over time the show did get cancelled and ended in 2006 but I have always watched the show online or straight from my box set. I do have other seasons but always find season 1 is the best. The Pilot episode was amazing. I loved the excitement of the show when it first began however when Prue was killed off in season 3 it got a bit "urgghh" for me as it just wasn't the same...

My favourite in season 1 has to be "That 70's Episode" where it takes the sisters back to see their mother and grandmother. Prue and Piper are the children in the episode meanwhile their mother is pregnant with Piper.  I adored the synopsis of this episode as you find out more about their ancestry and how they were part of a Wiccan family..

Did you ever watch charmed?

Maid In Manhattan

As much as I like supernatural and fantasy tv shows I also love watched romantic comedy's. I wouldn't say it's a favourite movie genre to watch but this movie is absolutely amazing. Maid In Manahttan was released in 2002. I think I was about 16 then, my god so many moons ago..

The movie starred Jennifer Lopez as Marissa Ventura and Ralph Fiennes as Christopher Marshall. Ralph Fiennes also played Voldermort in Harry Potter, just thought I'd add that in lol. Jennifer Lopez is one of my favourite celebrities. Jennifer is a singer as well as an actress. Im sure you all know who she is by now. JLO also starred as "Selena" in the movie Selena back in 1997. Another one of my favourite movies...

Marissa(Jennifer lopez) is a maid who works at a first class hotel and Christopher (Ralph Fiennes)who is an heir meet by chance in the hotel however Christopher mistakes her for a guest. Christopher becomes smitten with Marissa who was accidentally trying on a guest's clothing. From this moment Marissa pretends to be somebody else and they spend some time together whilst Chris is in New York..

It's the ideal "fairytale" movie for me. It's also a feel good movie in my opinion. Jennifer Lopez plays the role so well and she looks gorgeous in it. The scene where she attends the Met Ball is so dreamy. I mean just imagine being at the Met, how amazing is that!!

Eventually the dream is broken and Marissa gets found out by the hotel management and Chris is so confused. Meanwhile Chris had fallen for the girl he met not the "fancy classy guest" he thought he had met. Lastly they reunite towards the end of the film, the best part!!

Lastly the movie is meant to have been inspired from a true story. Steven Rockefeller, the son of of New York Governor is meant to have married a maid in their Manhattan Hotel back in 1959...

Ghost Whisperer

Another series I loved to watch growing up was Ghost Whisperer.  Ghost Whisperer was on the air between 2005 and 2010. This show is another american supernatural tv shows and I loved it! The show starred Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon. Melinda was able to communicate with spirits and help those who have passed away..

As always the pilot episode of a series is always the best one. Melinda was a newlywed who had always been skeptical of ghosts or anything supernatural. However Melinda had been shown how to communicate with them from a young age. Melinda's grandmother had guided her and it isn't until she learns that she can communicate with them at a later age. This is when she becomes attached to many of the spirits that are seeking her help..

In the very first episode where Melinda is celebrating her wedding a spirit attaches itself to her during her. This is when she meets  the ghost of a sergeant who asks her to contact his son. As the series goes on Melinda does not only get sought out by ghosts but other beings as well...

This has to be one of those series that makes you think What if you could communicate with sprits , would you love to have a gift like that or allow the spirits to cross over?

It's definitely crossed my mind maybe because I watch too many shows like this lol...

Notting Hill

Notting Hill was always a movie I'd watch several times over. Notting Hill was released in 1999. When it was released I was about 13 years old and loved watching all the "rom com's". Notting Hill stars Julia Roberts as Anna Scott, Hugh Grant as William Thacker and Rhys Ifans as Spike..

Notting Hill is about a bookshop owner  and a celebrity who visits his store. Prior to this William bumps into her in the street. Anna comes into the store looking for a particular book and this is when he realises who she actually is. A chance encounter that  begins a love affair...

I have always adored Julia Roberts as she is one of my favourite actresses as is Hugh Grant one of my favourite actors. The scene where William has lots of press at his door because they find the famous "Anna Scott" is in his apartment is the best!! Spike played by Rhys Ifans runs outside in just his underwear is EPIC!! Obviously the press love this and think that more has gone on with Anna..of course it's Spike just being Spike..

I have always said my older sister has a look of Julia Roberts. She doesn't think so but I can see it a little. Just thought I'd add that in too..

Notting Hill brought in $364 million dollars at the time of its release. I mean how huge is that figure. Again it starred some big names and is a still a favourite today. I always find the older the movie the better it is..

What I Got For My Birthday This Year...

Can't believe were almost at the end of July already!! My birthday was this month and I asked on Instagram if you all wanted to see what I was gifted. The majority of you said yes so I've put together this post showing you what I received this time around. Last year I also did a similar post so thought it would be traditional to do it again....

Let's just say I don't look my age and never have and what I dread the most when it's almost your birthday is being asked "What do you want for your birthday?". I'm usually pretty quick with this and answer it with so many options. However this year it was different. I didn't know what I wanted, I hadn't thought about it much and when you try to think of things you haven't got it's hard. Yes I am lucky enough to be gifted items through the year from pr companies and even family and friends, so much so that I felt like I didn't "need" anything. I also buy things for myself through the year too so "wanting" a certain product didn't really cross my mind...

I didn't want any fancy gadgets, any fancy handbags, shoes or even makeup because I am lucky enough to be able to purchase items like that without telling anybody else what I'm after (if you get me!). However there were some things I had on a teeny weeny list and to be honest I was happy with what I received and for some reason feel a lot more appreciative of what I was gifted. Maybe it's because I'm getting older or just because what we have in life doesn't mean anything at all, materialistic things mean nothing. Having your family and friends around is even more important. When I had opened all my cards and gifts we basically had a lovely day, went for a meal, had some drinks and it was the first time my birthday felt like every other day....is it just me or does anybody else feel like that too?...

Anyhow besides that bit of a mushy paragraph I got quite a mixture of gifts from beauty, fashion and even some accessories, carry on reading to see my thoughts...

Fashion And Accessories

I have always adored blazers and skinny ankle grazer/disco jeans in the summer. I literally live in cami tops, jeans, blazers and sandals for like 3 months just because it's easy to wear and feels comfortable too. You can dress your outfit up or down and for me owning a staple Black Blazer is a must have in my opinion.  I literally go through black blazers like there's no tomorrow. I may have 3 or 4 different styles and they all have to be black. I was gifted this one and it's the  Lipsy Ruched Blazer. It's an open front blazer and has ruched sleeves. It's the typeof blazer I would go for, 3\4 length at the arms and perfect with high waisted jeans too...

Another item I was kindly gifted from this store were the Lipsy Kate Diamante Anke Jeans. Their a mid rise jean in a light wash blue shade. The diamante embellishment are on the lower legs and these jeans look really luxurious.  When I tried them on they went on easily and are perfect for a smart/casual look. Lipsy jeans have always been some of my favourites to wear...

One accessory I love to wear to complement my outfits are watches. I never really wear watches when I'm in work as I'm afraid of damaging them but for off duty days my favourite brand for watches at the moment are of course Lipsy. I must admit Lipsy has been one of my favourites on the high street for many years. I was gifted this Lipsy Bracelet Floral Diamante Face Watch and look how gorgeous it is. It's one of my favourite designs from Lipsy. It's a two tone bracelet watch and has a silver face with rose gold flowers on the front. How stunning is this piece though?...

Lastly one gift I was not expecting at all and had no clue about was another Pandora Charm for my Pandora Bracelet. I'm the one that doesn't have loads of charms on my bracelet and the one I was gifted for my birthday is the 3rd charm. I'm very simple with my pandora at the moment but would like to purchase some more charms for it. My lovely mum gifted me a vintage "L" charm and it's absolutely stunning. You can't see it in this photo but if any of you wish to see it let me know and I'll try and get some shots of it...

Fragrance And Skincare

Recently I kept going into fragrance stores and trying out all their new perfumes.  I must have added most of them onto my wishlist and kept spraying them on my clothes as we were browsing around. There were two fragrances I have had my eye on for a quite a while, one that was released last year and one that's recently new. Looking at the prices I found them both to be very expensive for just one purchase and had said discreetly how much I wanted to get my hands on them. I never asked for any fragrance for my birthday because let's just say I didn't need it. My fragrance collection is a bit like my makeup collection, too much lol :)

When I was sat opening my presents from my partner I opened up one which had the Kat Von D "Saint" perfume. I had received samples of this with some orders I had made in the past and literally used them up in a matter of days. I don't own anything beauty related from Kat Von D but knew I wanted the full bottle of this scent. I was so surprised to get it. The packaging, the design of the bottle and the fragrance itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's very different to a lot of perfumes I own and can't wait to start using it...

Later on in the day when I received my gifts from my mum along with the charm she hd also gifted me the NEW Caroline Herrera Good Girl fragrance. OMG this fragrance smells absolutely divine. I absolutely love the promotion for this "Good Girl Gone Bad" and the perfume bottle is a high heel, how cool is that!! I was gifted a larger size that came with a mini scent too, you can see in the photo..how adorable is that :) Good Girl has jasmine, cocoa, tonka and almond etc. It's such a sensual and alluring scent too..

A couple of things I did ask for no matter how little in cost they were were two products from the NEW Zoella Beauty Splash Botanics range. I picked up all the collection when it was released and have been literally using these items ever since I got them. Two of my favourites to use in and after the bath are the Lagoon love Bath Milk Powder and the Quench Me Moisturising Body Sorbet. The Lagoon Love is so so nice, it creates so many bubbles and smells insane too! Has to be one of my favourite bath milk powders from her beauty line. I have been loving the Quench Me lotion, it's so lightweight and a lot more lighter than last year's Jelly And Gelato Body Pudding. if you haven't tried any of Zoe's new range yet I highly recommend them...

Makeup/Cosmetics

Funnily enough I didn't ask for much makeup this year as some of the latest releases have already been added to my collection. Yes I do have a HUGE beauty wish list but want to be able to treat myself to those items when they are released. Instead I asked for some drugstore makeup as I have recently been loving Makeup Revolution or should I say Revolution Beauty. Yes I was one of those girls who said "I'm never buying makeup revolution products" or "They have no right to dupe higher end products". As I've gotten older I sometimes think it's not how much a product is, what it looks like as long as you are happy with it's quality and performance. I do agree with how they are trying to market products to an "everyday audience" and make beauty available and affordable for all. That I agree with but as of yet their quality has been just as good as higher end. Maybe I'm being a bit of a hypocrite but there are no rules in makeup, none at all and no one can tell you what you can't purchase or not pick up. I still buy higher end products mainly because I CAN,  well that's at the moment. I always look at it like this " If your able to then why not because one day you won't be able too!" or "Life is short, just buy the makeup".

Two items I received from Revolution were the  I Heart Revolution Violet Chocolate palette and the Revolution Newtrals 2 palette. Im such an eyeshadow palette junkie and must more than I need. I absolutely love mauve/violet toned palettes and wanted to try this one out. I've seen so many good reviews for it on Youtube and Instagram. Again the Newtrals 2 palette has shades that I wear all the time and for such a low cost it's amazing...

I am so thankful for all these gifts no matter what the cost is. I also received some money too and have put this away safe. I always keep the money for something I may want at a later date.  Some of these gifts can be used for inspiration too. Are there any relatives or friends you have that may want a lovely gift for their birthday? Do any of you ask for products for your birthday or do you like surprises and wait and see what you get?...

Gotta love a bronze makeup look during the summer....

I'm not a huge fan of summer even If I am a July baby lol. One thing I love to do in the summer though is wear makeup that matches the season. My birthday was this week and I always love going that little extra mile with my birthday makeup. I love makeup that makes you look all glowing and bronzed and wanted to pull out those products I think do just that....

I go through phases of wanting to use a high end foundation for my base and try to use an illuminating primer to match too. Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation is my go too especially when I want to go all out.  I did hear a lot of mixed reviews about this foundation. You know me no matter what I buy it anyway. I have bought this product over and over again because I love the glow it gives. I don't know what it is but it looks nice on my skin. It gives a demi-matte finish and has a medium coverage (in my opinion). I usually go for full coverage foundations but this is build able too and looks nice once all your makeup is done too..

For my contour recently I have been loving cream contour sticks and this little gem from Tanya Burr Cosmetics is an absolute lifesaver. I never used to use cream products however this makes application so easy. Just suck your cheeks in and glide it along the hollow of your cheeks, your jawline and forehead. I have the shade light to medium and it's perfect for my skin tone. I then blend it using my beauty blender, looks so effortless..

To bronze my skin recently Primark Beauty came out with their Bronze range. OMG this bronzer is absolutely insane especially for the price. I think there's two shades in the bronzers and I picked up the darker one, can't remember the name though. The pigmentation and the shade itself is perfect for me, you should definitely check them out if you haven't already loves...

I also love a good multi-use product. You can use the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powder in Warm Bronze to bronze your cheeks or add a golden highlight to your cheek bones. What I love about this product is how gorgeous it is on the skin. It gives such a golden glow and can also be used as a lid topper too. I think Tanya did a good job with this collection. It came out last year I think and not sure if you can pick it up still but best trying online. If you have it already what do you think??

If you follow me on Instagram (here @leighannesheila) you will know how much I love eyeshadow palettes and eyeshadow in general. Some of my favourite palettes to use especially when it's my birthday are the four pan luxury quads from Charlotte Tilbury!! The two I love the most during summer time and the two I used for my birthday makeup were The Dolce Vita and The Golden Goddess palettes.  These two combined are absolutely gorgeous, they scream summer to me!! I love using the enhance shades all over the lids and underneath the lower lashline. The pigmentation is just crazy. No I'm not just saying that because there CT quads but because it's true. They look stunning on the eyes. There a little pricey but totally worth the purchase....you'll thank me later xo

To add a bit of a pop on the eyes I love using the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter And Glow Liquid Eyeshadows. I used the shade Bronzed Bell for my birthday makeup and I also used one of the new Pixi Beauty Liquid Fairy Lights in the shade Bare Brilliance. It's such a stunning colour and an alternative to the Stila ones. You can see swatches of the fairy lights in my recent blog post HERE...

If you want to just to use one shadow on the lid and want easy application the Colour Chameleons from Charlotte Tilbury are amazing. I love the shade Bronzed Garnet, it's my favourite eyeshadow stick in her line. I use it a lot underneath the bottom lashline and then smudge it out with the enhance shades from the palettes. Trust me it looks beautiful, pick one up you'll see...

I think I should have dedicated this post to all things CT but you know when you want to use luxurious items for your birthday makeup CT products are always the ones that win. I have been in love Charlotte's Eyes to Mesmerise cream shadow pots ever since I discovered the brand. The shade Bette is the most gorgeous gold cream shadow I've ever seen. It's named after the iconic Bette Davies and it looks so beautiful on the eyes during the summer. One tip I will give you is add the pop shade from the two palette's above to make it look even more gorgeous...

We're almost there loves. One thing I love to do to make my make up look even more bronzed and glowing is use highlighter. I use highlighter all the time but when it's a special event or my birthday I love using highlights that give the most nicest glow without it being too overboard. One palette I love using and picked up this year was the Huda Beauty Bronze Sands Edition palette. It has four shades, Barbados, Maldives, Aruba and  Bora Bora. The first shade is a cream highlight and is designed to be the base shades. You then use the other shades on top of each other. I've tried this and it looks stunning, there's no cakeiness either. You can use these highlights as a single highlight too. Huda also has the Pink Sands, Golden Sands, Summer and Winter versions of these palettes...

Lastly we all love a good lip colour in the summer. My go to summer shade is of course from Charlotte Tilbury and that is one of the brighter shades. Miranda May has been mentioned on the blog before but for a nude lip Penelope Pink or Kim KW are gorgeous too. During the summer I love using a gloss and the lip Lustre's I love the most are Ibiza Nights and Seduction. Definitely summer staples if you ask me...

Check out my summer bronze makeup favourites below....

What are your summer staples???

Glow Up With Pixi

I have never thought of myself as a blogger who has a massive following, nor do I receive parcels every day. A lot of the products I blog about have all been gifted to me from friends or family or I have purchased them myself. When a HUGE parcel arrived at my door recently I almost died...literally!! The mailman held a white box at my doorstep with the words "Pixi By Petra" on the outside and I instantly thought "What is it, I haven't ordered anything?".One thing I can tell you is  that mailman made my day and receiving a parcel from PIXI BEAUTY hadn't quite sunk in yet...

SO after the excitement almost died down(not quite yet though!) and I was ready to take a look at what was inside I burst out screaming!! I had seen this package all over youtube and Instagram. Influencers were receiving this as PR from Pixi and then there's little old me, you know the girl who loves makeup and beauty, the girl that got this gorgeous parcel from a brand I have been wanting to work with as long as I have been blogging. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen the pictures I took of the PR parcel itself and what was inside. In todays post I have included more about the products they sent out and swatches too...

Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos

Pixi has released 2 powder highlighters with 2 shades in each. When I swatched the shades I was absolutely blown away with how pigmented and creamy they are. I don't think I've ever tried any highlighters from Pixi before and these are gorgeous for summer. The Glow-y Gossamer Duos retail for £22.00 each...

Subtle Sunrise is the lighter compact out of the two. I couldn't find a shade description for the highlighters but to me this one looks it has a really light champagne and pink toned highlight in it. If you want to go for a more rosy makeup look I think this set of shades would be perfect. I also love the name as I think the shades are quite light but when swatched you still get that awesome glow to it!!

Delicate Dew is the deeper compact out of the two. This one looks like it would suit more tanned/deeper skin but I think with highlighters no matter what your skin tone you can make them work for you. The shades in this one look more bronzed as well, these are the kind of highlights I love as I have quite an olive skin tone too. I suppose you could also use these as eyeshadows too ;)

From T-B the first two shades are from the Subtle Sunrise compact and the two bottom shades are from the Delicate Dew compact..

Just looking at the shades when swatched I would have to say the shades I love the look of the most is the 1st and 4th shades, just how beautiful are they....

You can pick up these compacts from the UK Pixi Beauty website HERE...

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights

When I first saw these online I absolutely loved them. I love liquid eyeshadows and anything that has some glitter to it. I love wearing liquid eyeshadows either on their own or over eyeshadow. I love to wear a liquid eyeshadow when I'm doing a different type of makeup look or makeup for an event. The Pixi Fairy Lights retail for £15.00 each and are available in five shades. These shadows are also infused with chamomile and rose to soothe and hydrate the lid upon application. As I swatched these I could feel how cooling they were as well and I love that about liquid eyeshadows. It would be lovely to see some more pops of colour in this range too, Pixi if you read this I would love a blue or a purple shadow....

Passion Light is absolutely gorgeous. This would look ideal for a copper/bronze makeup look. Passion Light looks to me like a deep bronze shade with a hint of gold to it.  You could totally wear this shade alone too. I love bronze eyeshadow shades as I feel it makes my blue eyes pop more...

Crystalline to me looks like a silver with a hint of white. I feel like this would look even better over eyeshadow that's already been applied. I don't find it as pigmented as Passion Light either. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of silver/white liquid shadows but I could find a way to make it work...

Rose Gold is of course rose gold. We all know what this type of shade looks like. To me this shade is pink toned with a hint of gold. I think this would look gorgeous applied on the lids for a wedding or even a romantic eye look...

From T-B the shades are Passion Light, Crystalline, Rose Gold, Sun Ray and Bare Brilliance

SunRay to me looks like a gold shadow with a speck of green glitter running through it. I don't know if it's just me but when swatched you can kinda see the shift to it. It also swatched quite sheer but I think these shadows are build able and it's probably just me swatching it horribly lol...

Lastly in the Pixi Fairy Lights range we have the shade Bare Brilliance. I can honestly say that this shadow and Passion Light have to be my most favourite, shade wise. I love these types of deeper shades and can't wait to play around with them more...

You can pick the Pixi Fairy Lights up from the UK Pixi Beauty website HERE...

Receiving this parcel absolutely blown me away. I had no clue PIXI would send this to me. I was so surprised, I still am. It's crazy to think that just over 14 months ago I had no clue how to start blogging, taking photos was alien to me and I had no experience of photography, writing or even how to set up my blog. With a lot of research, hard work and determination I think I can say it's all paying off. It just goes to show that who ever you are, no matter how big or small of a following you have if you have a dream GO FOR IT....I did :) I love to write, I love to take photos and my passion for makeup and beauty has grown even more since I started. Without those of you that follow me on my socials, comment and engage even more I wouldn't have received such an amazing parcel like this....

Thank you so much for your continued love and support...

Before I go what would you love to try in this range? Do you own any makeup from Pixi?, let me know your thoughts in the comments...

Kylie X Kris Jenner Collection

Kylie Jenner recently collaborated with her mum on a collection for Kylie Cosmetics. Kris Jenner recently took over Kylie's Instagram account for a week to promote her MOTHERS DAY collection with Kylie's cosmetic line. I believe mothers day in the USA was in May where as here in the UK it was in March.  I absolutely loved what they did to promote this collection, honestly loved the KRIS takeover!! I absolutely think that KRIS is amazing and killed it with this collection...

The Kylie X Kris Jenner collection included 5 products, a lipstick, a lipliner, a face palette, a liquid lipstick set and an eyeshadow palette. The products were also available in a bundle....I decided to pick up the bundle which was $150.00! If you were to buy the products individually it would cost around $161.00 so buying the bundle was a better option for me. Obviously shipping was free but I also had to pay a customs fee of around £30.00 once it arrived in the mail. I've never been lucky enough to not get a customs fee but you sorta of expect it when you order from overseas....

For todays post I decided to swatch just the eyeshadow palette as I feel most of these products have been swatched on you tube and social media. I will add some videos from Kylie's youtube channel of the swatches if your interested more in the lipsticks etc...As you all know eyeshadow palettes are my favourite and I will have the swatches in a photo below for you...

What I did want to pinpoint on was how amazing is the packaging on this collection. I absolutely love it, it has to be one of my favourite designs Kylie has done. I love the black and white and how the products have Kris's name on them. The promotional videos for this collection were really good and Kris doing tutorials on youtube was INSANE...!

Obviously I'm going to say my favourite product in this bundle has to be the eyeshadow palette. I love all the names in the palette and how there very KRIS related.  Some of the names just make me laugh especially the shade "It's snowing pussy willows" from the face palette. If your a die hard "Keeping up with the Kardashians' fan like me you will know what that's about!! When I first saw this palette it reminded me of the sigma beauty palettes. I don't own anything from sigma so I can't really compare eyeshadow quality...

With this collection being released in May(in the USA) and it arriving so many weeks later here it's took a while for me to get this post up. The palette itself is actually smaller than I thought it would be. On it's own the palette retails for $42.00 and its a cool toned palette too. I did want to make the palette the HIGHLIGHT though so the shades from the palette are in the pics loves.....

From T-B are the shades I love myself, Gorgeous, It's an emergency, Very Nice, Haters, Vodka Tonic, Paybacks a bitch and Impressed

The shades that stand out to me the most in the first two rows are Gorgeous and Very nice. I found these to be more vibrant except the mattes do blend nicely. As long as you have time to build it up you can get some really nice looks from this palette...

From T-B the shades are 10%, I'm watching you, Talent and Does it come in Black

I found the first 3 shades of this row to swatch beautifully however the black shade looked really patchy to me. I don't really use black eyeshadows so it doesn't really bother me much..

As I said before I wanted to add this video so you can see other swatches if your not here to see the palette....;)
