Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette

Hello lovelies.. I FINALLY got my hands on the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette. I absolutely loved the look of this palette when it was released!! The colours and the packaging are stunning don't you think?? I don't have her first palette, the rose gold one as I wasn't prepared to pay for a palette without a mirror and apparently a cardboard sleeve. I can't comment too much on it's quality either so not sure if this palette would  be considered worse or better :)  Here's my first impressions...xo

First of all when you get the palette it comes in a outer box packaging with Huda Beauty on it. It has the same colours as the palette itself. Only difference is the palette has a stunning pic of Huda's eyes on the front. How gorgeous is this image guys?? I think this was used to promote the palette too. I absolutely love the theme and how it's desert dusk inspired.  Definitely one of the prettiest palette's I have seen this year..

When you open the palette you have a collection of 18 shadows, a mirror and a holgraphic card to protect the palette. I absolutely love this card it's so sleek. The eyeshadow palette has 8 mattes, 6 pressed pearls, 3 duo chrome toppers and 1 glitter. The colour theme is absolutely gorgeous. As described on Huda's palette it has rich hues of changing plums, corals, ochres and golds. I am in love with this palette guys!! I normally gravitate towards bronzes, nudes, coppers and golds. The striking purples and pinks in this palette made me step out of my comfort zone a little bit. So that's why I decided to pick this palette up. The palette weighs 25.2 g and inside the box I'd say it's well protected. I can't wait to have a play around with it over the festive season, the glitter shadow looks insane!! I have inserted photos of some swatches I did from each row guys....

Row 1 includes from T-B the shades Desert Sand, Musk, Eden, Amber, Blood Moon and OUD

5 of these shades are matte and 1 appears to be a pressed pearl. You can definitely see the difference between a pressed pearl and duo chrome. When you look at the palette close you can see what I mean.  Blood Moon is the pressed pearl in this row. What can I say about the matte's. When I swatched them they felt like how regular mattes should feel. I'm not too sure about them being buttery just yet!! Blood Moon has an amazing texture though and my swatch doesn't really give it justice though. In person the swatch was so beautiful...

Row 2 includes from T-B the shades Celestial, Nefertiti, Twilight, Amethyst, Royal and Retrograde

This row is absolutely stunning guys!! You know when you can tell how good a shadow is going to be by the way it first feels when you swatch it. This was that row. Colour picked up straight away and the pigmentation is lovely. I am super impressed with this row. From looking at this row I think 3 of these are the duo chrome toppers.  The shades Celestial, Twilight and Retrograde looks duo chrome to me, correct me if I'm wrong though. Nefertiti and Royal look like pressed pearls. I absolutely love the shade Royal the most from this row..

Row 3 includes from T-B the shades Cashmere, Angelic, Cosmo, Turkish Delight, Saffron and Blazing

How stunning is this last row. I was drawn to this row the most I think obviously because of the glitter shadow. Who doesn't love glitter at christmas time. This is why I waited to write this post as I feel the glitter would look lovely for a festive makeup look. Especially if you want to step away from the nudes and golds. I am going to try this glitter out and see what it's like. I would say you definitely need a glitter glue or tacky base to apply it with as the swatch felt a little grainy. I did watch a few you tube videos where some influencers said they were not impressed with the glitter shadow and some said they were annoyed because the pan fell out. I've not yet had that issue but I'll let you guys know if I do. I am in love with the Turkish Delight shade mainly due to my obsession with warm tones. Cashmere is a lovely gold shade too...

Overall I would say I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I can't wait to give it a go on my eyes. So excited to play around with a bit more colour..I picked mine up off cult beauty guys...xo

Have you guys picked up this palette?? What are your impressions of it?
